Clinical Therapies
Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy is most commonly used to help and treat any musculoskeletal injury or disorder (in other words, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments or similar). This means that we treat acute injuries like disc bulges, whiplash, sprains, strains, trauma and nerve pain, as well as chronic problems like joint disorders, previous damage and degeneration. There is always something that can be done to help you, even if the problem is not able to be resolved in its entirety.

Our Physios use a variety of Physiotherapy treatment types, including muscle release, joint release, manipulation, anti-inflammatory treatments, acupuncture, strapping, stretching and strengthening.
Generally, the earlier Physiotherapy is started, the faster the return to health, work or sport. Long-standing problems also respond well to an accurate diagnosis, a comprehensive treatment plan and advice on preventing reoccurrence.
We liaise with your entire healthcare team (GPs, consultants and similar) so that all of your information gets to those that need it.
At Physiofusion we only use Chartered Physiotherapists who are registered with the Health Care Professions Council, and who have an average of 13 years experience – which means that you know that you are in safe hands.
Your First Physiotherapy Appointment
Physiotherapy Initial assessment appointments can take up to 60 minutes – depending on how complex your injury and medical history is. You may need to undress to allow the Physio to see the affected body part – you may want to bring a pair of shorts along to change into if you have a lower back or leg problem.
In the first session, your Physio will take a detailed medical history from you, as well as looking at the affected area and associated structures around it, in order to give you a diagnosis.
Once they have established the diagnosis, they will then discuss the different options with you to come up with a treatment plan that you are both happy with. If you need further tests (scans, x-rays or a consultant opinion, for example) then they will also recommend and discuss these with you.
If it is appropriate, you will also receive Physiotherapy treatment in your first session, allowing you to start your recovery immediately.
If you would like to pay using health insurance, or you are coming to us via a medico-legal intermediary or solicitor, the prices will vary.
